Christmas Party for Street Kids 2009  

Last December 26, 2009, we gathered some 40+ children to have some Christmas fun with us at the Barangay Nayong Kanluran Park. The party jump-started with some games such as the balloon relay and the basket cup demo. The competition was full of energy as the kids shrieked their lungs out in cheer for their respective teams. In between games, Ate Michelle (our coordinator), let the kids view a short AVP entitled “We are the Reason” which talks about the coming of Jesus Christ into the world to save us from our sins. Feeling the children’s openness to the gospel of Christ, Ate Michelle led them to pray and accept Jesus into their hearts and lives as Lord and Savior. Kuya Vlady further shared with the kids the true meaning of Christmas. As the sun slowly set, the party capped off with a yummy snack which consisted of a hearty burger and juice. We also had a simple gift giving of goody bags containing food items, clothing, towels and lots of sweets and candies. The kids were all smiles as they left the park with full tummies, carrying their goodies. We were all glad to have spent a wonderful afternoon in the spirit of love and giving. Well, isn’t that what the season is all about? .
