Thrusts

Quality Education for the Poor. It is common practice for charitable organizations to provide scholarships to qualified students. A number of Filipinos have benefited from this manner of assistance. This does not address, however, the deteriorating quality of education the schools are currently providing due to underpaid educators. Thus, the Uplift Movement Foundation, Inc., targets to provide education by supporting teachers who are burdened to reach students who are in poor communities. Through this approach, hopefully, more students will be catered to, without compromising the quality of education that they are receiving.
Affordable Health Services and Medications. The costs of health services are continually on the rise and expectedly the underprivileged are the most severely affected. Thus, Uplift Movement Foundation Inc. seeks to promote the use of more affordable medications and the adoption of service providers that are catering to the poor communities such as the Botika sa Baranggay. Eventually, the target is to be able to provide affordable health services to poor areas.
Microfinance. It is often quoted that if we really want to help the poor, we should not only give them fish, which will only feed them for the day; instead, we should teach them how to fish for it can be likened to feeding them for the rest of their lives. Microfinance is one of the best ways to teach the people how to fish. Pooling of limited resources can go a long way when used for building capabilities among the poor to become entrepreneurs.
Community Livelihood Projects. Majority of Filipinos are living below the poverty level. Due to illiteracy and limited opportunities, many are unemployed. Uplift Movement moves to create a network of community-based entrepreneurs who will be trained in waste recycling, health food retailing and organic gardening.
