Why Grant Writing Workshops
We are offering grant writing courses as a fee-for-service structure to fulfill our nonprofit mission of empowering Black male educators and promoting educational equity. This initiative leverages the extensive expertise of our founder, and board of directors rich history in various facets of the grant process: Grant Writing: Our founder has successfully written grants for numerous local organizations and school districts, securing vital funding to support educational initiatives and community programs. Grant Reviewing: With experience reviewing grants for the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB), our founder brings a deep understanding of what funders look for in grant proposals, enhancing the quality and competitiveness of the grant applications our participants will learn to write. Grant Making: As a former grant funder with the Headwaters Foundation, our founder has insights into the funding process from a donor's perspective, the impact of participatory grant making and providing unique and valuable guidance to those seeking to secure grants. By offering these courses, we aim to build the capacity of educators, nonprofits, and community organizations to secure the funding they need to thrive. This fee-for-service structure not only supports our mission but also ensures the sustainability of our organization, allowing us to continue providing essential support and resources to Black male educators and their students. |
